We know first hand every travel service provider in the country of Iceland including over 150 accommodations throughout the country. We can tell you when a 4 wheel drive vehicle is necessary and when a 2 wheel drive car will suffice.

Independent Fly/Drive Itineraries are suitable for travel between April and October - These itineraries are good starting points for working with IST to develop the ideal travel plan for independent minded travelers. Whether you wish to travel the ring road with a rental car or concentrate on one region of the country, we have all the answers you'll need.

For brief visits to Iceland such as a stopover on your way to or from Europe during the summer months, please contact Icelandair Holidays directly at 800-223-5500. For visits during the winter months we recommend using Reykjavik as your base and taking day tours into the countryside of south and/or west Iceland. Scheduled and customized private day tours by bus or jeep are available throughout the year.

Iceland Saga Travel (IST) prepays all Iceland-based service providers. Client and service providers will have prepaid vouchers for each service (rental car, accommodations, tours, ferries, etc.). All accommodations include breakfast. IST provides airport FlyBus tickets, maps, driving directions and regional information brochures. IST is happy to recommend and pre-book Reykjavík restaurant reservations.
