Sample Short Visit or Stopover Itinerary (4 days)

Shorter and longer itinerary plans are available. Iceland Saga Travel in conjunction with Icelandair can provide stopovers in Iceland on your eastward or westward travel. IST booked stopovers in Iceland can last from 1 day to 7 days.

Depart US to Keflavík on Icelandair.

Day 1
Arrive in Iceland and take the FlyBus to Reykjavík accommodations (IST provides tickets). Free time to explore Reykjavík or take a part-day tour (see below for options). Stay at accommodations ranging from 4-star hotels (small, large, quaint, modern) to charming guesthouses located in downtown Reykjavík. Private facilities and breakfast included.

Day 2
Take Golden Circle Super Jeep Tour, departs from hotel at 8:30 AM and returns at 6:00 PM. Tour includes visits to Thingvellir National Park, Geysir hot springs area and Gullfoss waterfall. The Jeep tour makes a stop at or near a glacier and offers an optional snowmobile ride on or near the glacier (weather permitting). Option to take a shorter bus version of the tour, which does not include a visit to the glacier. Overnight in Reykjavík.

Day 3
Take a full day South Shore Adventure tour via coach or jeep (requires a minimum of 4 passengers). Departs from hotel at 9:00 AM and returns by 6:00 PM. Overnight in Reykjavík.

Day 4
Check out early for morning flights to Europe (take FlyBus to Keflavík airport) or check out at 10:15 AM for afternoon flights to Europe or the US and take the Relaxing Blue Lagoon Tour, departing from your accommodations between 10:30 AM and 10:45 AM with Keflavík airport drop off at 2:30 PM. Tour driver will keep luggage securely on the coach during the visit to the lagoon.
